My work represents the way I see life. I choose the right model and place. I photograph, edit, project and paint. Painting in the dark, which I sometimes do, opens new possibilities for choosing colours, since in a way I’ll only really see the result in the end. Combining photos, I start compositions with new directions. I work in acrylics using fast strokes. This method strengthens the situations and people I am presenting, or inspired by. In that sense, large canvases, hard brushes and a lot of pure paint suit me best.
Every work tells its own story, in a different space, placing a different character.
The result of all this is that my work is engaging, compelling – the observer wants to take part in what he sees, and is able to identify himself within the context of the work.
